12 Crusaders Score in Win Over Erskine

DUE WEST, S.C. - Kylie Eastman led a group of 12 goal scorers as the Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse team earned 1 27-4 win at Erskine this afternoon.  The victory puts The Abbey at 8-1 on the season, with a 5-0 Conference Carolinas record.  Erskine dips to 0-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It took Eastman less than a minute into the contest to score two goals
  • Erskine scored a goal two and a half minutes into the contest, but The Abbey scored seven straight after that.  Two of the goals during the stretch were scored by Angelina Perrone
  • Jenn Smith scored with less than a minute to go in the period, and Belmont Abbey held a 17-2 lead at halftime.  The Crusaders outshot the Flying Fleet 24-3 in the half
  • The second half started out much like the first, with the Crusaders scoring three goals in the first three minutes.  The defense was also stellar, giving up just one shot in the first 13 minutes of the half
  • Later in the half, Eastman and Perrone scored goals just 28 seconds apart from each other.  Angela Bagatta scored the last two goals of the game, and Belmont Abbey wrapped up the 27-4 victory
  • On the day, Eastman led the Crusader offense, with five goals and two assists
  • Perrone and Riley D'Andrea each scored four goals.  Alyssa Pearson and Emma Pherson each won eight draw controls
  • As a team, the Crusaders outshot the Flying Fleet 37-10 and won 26 draw controls to Erskine's seven
