COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Belmont Abbey makes its first NCAA Elite Eight appearance Tuesday when it faces Central Missouri. The Crusaders are seeded fourth nationally after winning the Southeast Regional last week as the top team.

The Crusaders have won 20 straight games since an 83-72 loss to Barton in the Conference Carolinas opener on Jan. 15. They defeated the Bulldogs the next three times they met, including in the league championship game and regional final.

No. 5 national seed Central Missouri (22-4) won the Central Regional as a No. 4 seed. The Jennies earned an at-large bid to the tournament after being upset in the MIAA quarterfinals by the No. 7 seed.

Other storylines for tonight's game:

•   Belmont Abbey is making is seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and now stands 4-6 overall.
•   Belmont Abbey is making its second consecutive NCAA appearance. The Crusaders were on the court practicing last year when the tournament was canceled
