Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey softball team swept the Conference Carolinas doubleheader against Chowan Saturday at Crusader Field. The Crusaders improve to 7-11 on the year and 5-3 on conference play. Chowan moves to 6-13-1 overall and 0-6 in the league. Before the doubleheader Belmont Abbey honored the team's seniors Annabeth Watkins, Melissa Neyhouse, Elena Duran, Morgan Smith, and Katie Allison.
 
Game One
Belmont Abbey 8, Chowan 0

• Annabeth Watkins earned her third win of the year pitching a one hitter. The lone hit came with two outs in the fifth.
• Sydney Pon hit a two-RBI single to put The Abbey up by eight and end the game.
• Pon also homered for a 2-for-3 effort with 3 RBI.
• Melissa Neyhouse and Cameron Cooper also had two hits.
• Cooper blasted a solo home run in third inning.
• Katie Allison two-run single with two outs in the first started the eight hit attack

 
Game Two
 Belmont Abbey 2, Chowan 1

• Pon delivered another game ending hit as her RBI single in the eighth to lift the Crusaders.
• Pon went 3-for-3 in the game including a double and walk.
• Allison tied the game in the fifth with an RBI double.
• Alannah Browne pitched seven innings allowing just one run on two hits while striking out four,
• Watkins picked up her fourth win tossing the extra frame.
