Aldridge Scores Nine as Crusaders Close Out Season at 18-5

HARROGATE, Tenn. -- Quest Aldridge scored nine points and three other players tallied eight each, but Emmanuel defeated Belmont Abbey 76-53 in the semifinal round of the 2021 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional.

The top-seeded and 14th-ranked Crusaders played without two starters in finishing the season at 18-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Aldridge dished out a team-high four assists and added four rebounds.
  • Nate Davis, LJ McCoy and Chandler Baker each scored eight points.
  • Mario Lacy was the leading rebounder with six.
  • Without Sean Halloran, a second-team all-conference selection and Conference Carolinas Tournament MVP, the Crusaders shot just 33.3 percent, a season low. The previous mark was 44.6 percent on two occasions.
  • Both teams grabbed 34 rebounds, just the fourth time all year without a positive margin on the board.
  • The Crusaders also played with Malik Tucker, who suffered a non-Covid illness on Saturday night.
