BELMONT, N.C. -
Kylie Eastman led seven Crusaders to score against Lees-McRae this afternoon, as the Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse team defeated the Bobcats 24-4. With the victory, The Abbey improves to 5-1 on the season, with a 2-0 record against Conference Carolinas opponents. The Bobcats dipped to 2-1, with a 1-1 conference mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Eastman only needed a minute and a half into the contest to put the Crusaders on the board
- Later in the half, Belmont Abbey scored four goals in a span of 1:20, two of those goals coming from Eastman, to make it an 8-0 Abbey lead
- Two straight goals by Riley D'Andrea made it a 14-1 lead with 10:32 in the half. Eva Stahlschmidt capped off the scoring for the half, and Belmont Abbey held a commanding 16-2 halftime lead
- Eastman only needed 21 seconds into the half to find the back of the net, off a pass from Angelina Perrone. After that, D'Andrea scored three straight goals
- Alyssa Pearson scored two goals in a row, and Kate Roberts capped off the scoring as the Crusaders took the 24-4 victory
- On the day, Eastman was The Abbey's leader, with seven goals and two assists
- D'Andrea added six goals, while Perrone finished with four goals and four assists
- The 24 goals scored by Belmont Abbey were the team's season-high so far. BAC outshot LMC 44-10
