Kaderabek Scores Six Goals in Win Over Lander

BELMONT, N.C. - Mackenzie Kaderabek scored six goals and the Belmont Abbey women's lacrosse team earned a 23-14 victory over Lander this evening.  The Abbey improves to 3-1 with the win, while Lander dips to 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Bearcats scored first, but the Crusaders responded with five straight goals, including two by defending IWLCA Player of the Week Kylie EastmanLexi Wright scored a man-up goal to make it a 5-1 Crusader lead at the 20:39 mark
  • Later in the half, Riley D'Andrea scored twice in 20 seconds to put the Crusaders in front 8-2
  • Kaderabek found the back of the net in the closing seconds off a pass from Eastman to give BAC a 13-8 lead at halftime
  • Eastman only needed 1:20 in the second to score for the Crusaders.  After that, Jenn Smith scored twice in a row followed by back-to-back goals by Kaderabek, for an 18-8 Abbey lead
  • At the 11:53 mark, Alyssa Pearson gave the Crusaders a 20-9 lead, their biggest of the contest
  • With 30 seconds to go, Kaderabek capped off the scoring, and The Abbey wrapped up the 23-14 victory
  • On the day, Kaderabek was the Crusaders' leader with six goals and an assist.  She also won six draw controls
  • Eastman scored five times and dished out four assists
  • Alyssa Pearson won seven draw controls

Belmont Abbey will open conference play on Saturday, March 6 when it visits North Greenville for a 12 noon contest.
