BELMONT, N.C. -- Matteo Misselli had 13 kills and Belmont Abbey hit .244 as a team, lifting the Crusaders to a 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-20) victory over Erskine Tuesday night in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action.
Brennan Davis dished out 34 assists while adding an ace, five digs and a block assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Andrew Kohut, in his full return from injury, tallied nine kills and a .278 hitting percentage. He also had a team-high seven digs.
- Brandon Pryzwara and William Morris each had six kills.
- The Crusaders hit .226 in the opening set, rallying from a 19-15 deficit. The Abbey scored three straight, then later tied the score at 21 and 22 before taking three of the last four points.
- The second set had just one lead change, when three straight points reversed a 9-8 deficit. The Flying Fleet saved one set point at 24-19, but an attack error ended the second set.
- In the final set, Belmont Abbey broke a 16-16 tie with back-to-back points to start a 5-1 run that created enough space for the victory.
