Nate Davis scored a season-high 17 points and Belmont Abbey hit 66.7 percent from the field overall, as the Crusaders held off Lees-McRae 91-89 in Conference Carolinas men's basketball action Tuesday night.
The Crusaders wrap up the regular season 15-4 overall and 13-3 in league play. They will be the No. 2 seed when the Conference Carolinas Tournament begins next week.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sean Halloran added 16 points and a career-high-tying nine assists. He hit 10 of 12 from the free-throw line, including a pair with 24 seconds left as the Bobcats tried to rally.
- Chandler Baker hit four of six three en route to 14 points, while Charles Solomon reached the same total with a perfect six-of-six night from the floor.
- Prince Davies was the fifth double-figure scorer of the night with 14 points.
- Belmont Abbey held a 35-26 rebounding advantage.
- The shooting percentage is the highest since at least the 2011-12 season when game records became available. The Crusaders made 69.6 percent (16 of 23) in the opening period, their second-best half of the year.
