MONTREAT, N.C. -- Sophomore Manny Thompson won the shotput competition and freshman Abraham Moreno earned two podium finishes, highlight Belmont Abbey's participation at the Montreat Winter Invite. The "Polar Bear" meet featured indoor events on the outdoor track.

TOP RESULTS

• Thompson threw the shotput 12.0 meters to win the event.
• Freshman Elijah Jackson placed second in long jump with a mark of 5.99m.
• Freshman Abraham Moreno won the 60m (7.27), then finished third in the 200 (23.06).

UP NEXT

• Belmont Abbey competes at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track and Field Championship next Monday, Feb. 22.
• The meet will take place in Virginia Beach, Va.
