Box Score BELMONT, N.C. - Carolina Tomey scored a career-high 15 points as the #10-ranked Belmont Abbey women's basketball team defeated Erskine 85-50 on Senior Night. With the win, The Abbey moves to 25-2, 10-1 and clinches the Conference Carolinas regular season championship.
How it Happened
- Maria Kuhlman scored eight points in the first quarter. BAC led at the end of the period 21-13
- Kuhlman only needed 18 seconds into the second to hit a three-pointer. Later in the quarter, The Abbey went on a 9-0 run to take a 38-21 lead
- The Crusaders held Erskine to field goal over a seven minute span, and led 44-27 at halftime
- The third quarter was all Abbey. BAC opened up the period on a 9-2 run, capped by a Tomey layup
- Taylor Stelley made a three-pointer to end the period, and BAC held a 69-38 lead heading into the final period
- Tomey was the first Crusader to score in the fourth. Fungate scored five in the period to help The Abbey wrap up the 85-50 win
- For the night, Kuhlman scored a game-high 21 points
- Fungate scored five and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds
- Tomey finished with 15 points, while Hannah Roney scored five points and handed out a game-high seven assists
