BELMONT, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey women's tennis team opened the Fall season by hosting the ITA Regionals today.  Schools from Conference Carolinas and the Peach Belt Conference played in an open-style singles and doubles format.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Bailey Horne and Kent Shiell got The Abbey its first win of the day with a 9-7 doubles victory over Emmanuel
• The Crusaders got two more doubles wins in the Consolation Round
• In singles play, Jai Rowe earned a 6-3, 6-4 singles win over an opponent from Emmanuel
• Nelson Stafford won his singles match 6-4, 6-3
• Horne earned an impressive 7-5, 6-3 victory over a Columbus State opponent
• Andres Golindano rounded out the Crusader wins with a 6-1, 6-1 win over a King opponent
