Box Score BELMONT, N.C. - Romeao Ferguson scored a career-high 29 points and tied his career best with 13 rebounds, but King rallied for a 91-87 victory over Belmont Abbey Saturday afternoon at the Wheeler Center. The Crusaders now stand at 11-8 on the year and 7-5 in Conference Carolinas play, while The Tornado improve to 14-5, 8-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- DeQuan Abrom contributed 17 points, while Sean Halloran and Ryan Shaffer each added 11
- Ferguson added a team-best four assists. He hit eight of 12 from the field and 13 of 14 free-throw attempts
- Belmont Abbey ended the half on a 13-2 run to build a 51-38 lead at the break. Ferguson had 14 points and seven rebounds in the period.
- The Crusaders sizzled at a 60.7 percent clip from the field in the opening stanza, finishing the contest at 52.8 percent.
- The Abbey also held a 40-24 advantage on the boards.
- BAC led 78-69 with 7:28 to play and 83-79 with 3:24 remaining, but the Tornado tallied eight straight points.
- As a unit, Belmont Abbey went 26-for-32 from the free-throw line
