Box Score 2 WINGATE, N.C. -- Hailey Ryan posted her first career double-double and the Crusaders hit a season-high .368 as Belmont Abbey defeated UNC-Pembroke 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-16) Tuesday as part of a tri-match at Wingate. In the nightcap, The Abbey came up short against the host and 24th-ranked Bulldogs 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 27-25).
THE OPENER
- Ryan had 10 kills - one shy of her career best - and 13 digs. She hit .360 with just one error.
- Mackenzie Chrapliwy tallied 16 kills and a .257 hitting percentage, while chipping in nine digs.
- Cassidy Bonito added nine kills, seven digs and 40 assists, while Carie Jane Valentine also totaled nine kills.
- Paige Rawlins led the defensive effort with 14 digs.
- As a team, the Crusaders hit .368.
THE NIGHTCAP
- Bonito registered her third triple-double in the last six matches with 13 kills, 17 assists and 11 digs. The senior setter entered the contest tied for third nationally in triple-doubles, one off the lead.
- Chrapliwy had 10 kills, while Rawlins added 14 digs.
