Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - Allie Downing scored 15 points, but the no. 3 seed Belmont Abbey Women's Basketball team lost 69-57 at the no. 1 seed Emmanuel in the Conference Carolinas Championship game this evening. The Crusaders move to 21-10 on the season, while the Lions improve to 24-6.
How it Happened
- Keyanna Spivey got the Crusaders on the board first, with a layup two minutes into the game. The Abbey trailed 30-10 when the quarter ended
- The second quarter was all Abbey. The Crusaders opened the period on a 7-0 run. On the defensive side, Belmont Abbey gave up just three points in the quarter. 16-3 were the quarter scores, as The Abbey stormed back to within seven by halftime, at 33-26
- In the third, Spivey again was the first Crusader to score. Later in the period, an 8-0 Abbey run pulled The Abbey to within five at 44-39. The Lions led 47-39 at the end of the period
