BELMONT, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team captured the 3-1 victory in front of the Homecoming crowd on Saturday afternoon. Three Crusaders scored to lift The Abbey to 6-4-1 on the year with a 5-0-1 Conference Carolina record. The King Tornado move to 1-6-1 with a 0-2 league record.
Highlights
- Aaron Madison capitalized on a penalty kick opportunity in the 21st minute to give the Crusaders the 1-0 advantage.
- King leveled the score in the 53rd minute when Ben Delisle scored on a free kick outside the 18-yard box.
- Tied at the half, The Abbey outshot the Tornado 12-5.
- Kenz Buteau broke the tie in the 62nd minute, finding the back of the net on a pass from Kevin Daly.
- Davis McBee added some insurance scoring off a free kick in the 68th minute with a little help from Gianni Serio
