BELMONT, N.C. - Zachary Blythe earned wins at both #3 singles and #2 doubles, though Belmont Abbey lost a 5-4 match to Chowan University.  The Abbey now stands at 10-16 on the season, and 3-1 in conference play.  The Hawks are now 7-6 overall, including a 3-1 conference record.

Blythe paired up Henrique Leal for an 8-7 win at #2 doubles.  The duo improved to 7-5 on the year, and 4-0 against Conference Carolinas opponents.  The Hawks, however, led 2-1 after doubles.

In singles, Blythe moved to 7-1 on the year at #3 singles with a 7-6, 7-3 victory.  He also has 3 wins at #1 singles this year.  Carlos Nolasco brought The Abbey closer with a 6-4, 6-4 win at #4 singles.  At #5, Jose Disotuar earned his eighth singles win of the year.  The Crusaders, however, lost the final match of the day and Chowan closed out the match 5-4.

Belmont Abbey will continue conference play on Friday, March 23, when it welcomes the Emmanuel College Lions.  That match will begin at 2 p.m.
