BELMONT, N.C. - James Delaney earned a 7-6, 6-1, victory at #2 singles, leading the Belmont Abbey Men's Tennis team to a 6-3 victory over Augusta University.  A 6-3 loss at Mars Hill University put the Crusaders at 1-1 on the day, and 3-4 on the season.  Augusta now stands at 3-3, while Mars Hill is now 2-5.

Against Augusta, The Abbey took two of the three doubles matches as Delaney teamed up with George Barfoot to earn an 8-2 win at #1.  Sophomore Zachary Blythe and freshman Henrique Leal put the Crusaders up 2-0 with an 8-5 win at #2.  Delaney later earned a convincing victory at #2 singles.

In the match at Mars Hill, Reinaldo Golindano got The Abbey on the board with a 6-2, 6-3 win at #3 singles.

Belmont Abbey will next host a doubleheader on Saturday, February 10.  It will face Young Harris College and Tusculum College.
