Box Score BELMONT, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team earned a 5-0 shutout over Mount Olive this afternoon. The Abbey now stands at 12-2 on the season, and 8-2 in Conference Carolinas action. The Trojans dipped to 4-6 overall, and 3-5 in conference play. It is the third shutout victory in a row for The Abbey, as well as its fifth straight shutout against Mount Olive. The victory also clinched home-field advantage for Belmont Abbey in the first round of the Conference Carolinas tournament.
How it Happened
- Tallee Zamiela scored her second goal of the season off a pass from Brooke Hedgspeth
- In the 21st minute Mackenzie Lewis found the back of the net off a pass from Zamiela. The Abbey 3-0 at halftime
- The tough Abbey defense did not give up a shot until the 36th minute
- Katherine Turner capped off the scoring with a goal in the 88th minute
- Lauryn Harding made four saves in goal
- On the day, Belmont Abbey outshot Mount Olive 21-8
