Men's Soccer Suffers Loss at Limestone

GAFFNEY, N.C. – The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team came up short against conference opponent Limestone 3-1 Saturday.

The Saints, who improved to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in Conference Carolinas (CC) play struck first with a goal by Louis Robels in the 42nd minute. The Crusaders (1-3-1, 0-1 CC) held Limestone to just the single goal in the first half as Wes Holifield recorded a pair of saves.

Limestone's Gui Machado netted two goals in the second half in the 48th and 80th minutes.

Belmont Abbey's Clay Dimick scored in the 86th minute sending Grant Retamar's pass into the back of the net.  

The Crusaders next match will be against Chowan, Tuesday at 3:30 P.M. at Alumni Field.
