HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team fell to Edinboro University, 7-2. The Fighting Scotts move to a 9-1 overall while the Crusaders drop to 5-10 on the year match is the 4th match of the spring break week.
Belmont Abbey would claim two in singles with wins from James Delaney and Grant Goldin. Both men would fight a long battle in the 3rd set but would come out victorious. Delaney defeated Camilo Moncayo 6-1, 3-6, 11-9 while Goldin would defeat Mauricio Santos 5-7, 6-3, 12-10.
While dropping all three matches in doubles the competition was close as Juan Baez and Delaney would only falter 9-7 to Vitor Albanese and Moncayo. Goldin and Young-Jin Kang would fall to a close 8-6 match against Daniel Fernandez and Santos.
The Crusaders will be back on the courts to Thursday, March 10 at 11:00 AM against Anderson University in Hilton Head Island.
