Fleetwood Sets Career-High For Saves with 15

BELMONT, N.C. -- Freshman Anna Fleetwood registered a career-high 15 saves, but Belmont Abbey dropped a 7-0 decision to Bellarmine in field hockey action Saturday at Alumni Field. The contest concluded a rigorous three-games-in-three-days stretch with the previous action taking place in New York.

Bellarmine (12-3) outshot the Crusaders 31-1 with Kayley Williams taking the only shot for the home team. The Knights opened a 4-0 lead in the opening period, then added three goals after intermission. Fleetwood made 10 of her saves in the first half. Her previous best of 14 saves came in the first meeting with Bellarmine on Oct. 1

Belmont Abbey (3-10) wraps up its inaugural home season on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. match against cross-town rival Queens.
