18th-Ranked Mount Olive Too Much For Men's Basketball In 82-55 Win

All five Mount Olive starters scored at least 12 points as the 18th-ranked Trojans never trailed in an 82-55 win over Belmont Abbey this evening at Kornegay Arena. Mount Olive improves to 15-2 overall and 8-1 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey slips to 1-15 overall and 1-8 in the league.

Mount Olive led by as many as 30 in the first half as it built a 47-21 halftime lead.

Belmont Abbey opened the second half on an 18-8 run as the Crusaders were outscored just 35-34 in the second half.

Chen tied for the game-high with 17 points. He also had six rebounds, six assists, one steal and a blocked shot. Drexler Clark added 11 points with three steals and two assists.

The Crusaders shot 33 percent from the floor but made just five of 21 (23 percent) from three-point range.
