Men's Soccer Ends Season With 3-0 Loss At Ninth-Ranked Limestone In Quarterfinal Round Of Conference Carolinas Tournament

Nationally ninth-ranked and top-seeded Limestone scored two goals in the first half and added another in the 63rd minute as the Saints advance to the semifinal round with a 3-0 Conference Carolinas Tournament quarterfinal victory this evening at Saints Field.

Limestone will now host the two semifinal matches and Saturday's final as it improves to 15-1-1, while the Crusaders end their season with final tally of 4-9-4.

The Saints attempted 20 shots on the night as they got on the board in the 20th minute on a Jorge Mackenna marker, the first of his two on the night.

11 minutes later the lead grew to 2-0 on Gui Machado's bicycle kick score off of a Mackenna pass. The score stayed 2-0 at the half.

Mackenna added the final goal of the match in the 63rd minute to close the scoring.

Tonight marked the final match of the careers for senior captains Nick Obermeyer and Max Becker, along with Juan Lopez.
