Women's Soccer Defeats North Greenville, 3-0 For Fifth-Straight Shutout

The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team recieved goals from Maggie Moore, Meghan Philp and Robyn Hatcher as the Crusaders capped off the 2013 regular season with a 3-0 win at North Greenville. The Abbey posted its fifth consecutive shutout as it improves to 11-3-1 overall and 7-1-1 in Conference Carolinas, while North Greenville drops to 7-9-0 overall and 4-5-0 in league play.

Belmont Abbey clinched the second seed and will host Limestone, the seventh seed, in the Conference Carolinas Tournament Quarterfinal Monday at 2:00 p.m.

Moore gave the Abbey the only goal it would need in the 29th minute as she scored her second career goal to put the Crusaders ahead 1-0.

The Abbey sealed the win with a pair of late goals in the final half, as sophomore Meghan Philp scored for the seventh time in the 71st minute, and Robyn Hatcher closed the scoring with her third goal of the year at the 86:47 mark.

Goalkeeper Hannah Kohls posted her fifth straight shutout and her seventh of the season.
