The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team allowed two goals in the final 28 minutes to fall 2-0 at Newberry this afternoon for its first loss of the season. The setback drops the Abbey's record to 2-1-0, while Newberry improves to 2-1-0.

Belmont Abbey outshot the Wolves 18-15 and had plenty of scoring chances in the match, but could not convert. The match remained scorless until the 69th minute when Kofi Kufor scored the first of his two goals when he tapped in a one timer from a low cross off the foot of Lucas Ferreira that beat Philip Bru.

Eight minutes later, Kufor struck again when he chipped the ball over the head of Jordan Junot and into the net to provide the insurance goal.
