Belmont Abbey freshman Hannah Schellenberg hit .357 with a
match-high 14 kills and 11 digs as the Crusaders women's volleyball
team wrapped up a 2-0 weekend with a 3-0 sweep at Mount Olive this
afternoon. Set scores were 25-17, 25-12 and 25-16. The Crusaders
move to 11-3 overall and 3-1 in Conference Carolinas, while Mount
Olive drops to 5-8 overall and 1-4 in league play.
Schellenberg was the only player in the match to reach double
digit kills as her 14 scores came on 28 attacks with just four
errors. She added 11 digs and a block assist. Angela Jubb posted
nine kills on 18 attacks with one error (.444) to go along with
nine digs and three total blocks (two assisted and one solo). Lydia
Schellenberg and Caitlin Hankins both chipped in with seven kills.
Schellenberg added a match-high 14 digs. Kay Schellenberg handed
out 37 assists.
The Crusaders offense hit .361 for the match and the defense
limited Mount Olive to a .062 attack, while winning the digs battle
by a 45-37 count.
