Box Score The Belmont Abbey men's soccer
team suffered a 2-0 loss at Limestone this afternoon. Limestone
scored single goals in the first and second halves as it improved
its record to 5-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 in Conference Carolinas,
while the Abbey drops to 3-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in Conference
Carolinas.
Limestone jumped ahead 1-0 just nine minutes in on Thomas
McCready's unassisted tally at the 8:20 mark. The score stayed that
way until the 84th minute when Limestone doubled its advantage when
Jorge McKenna's crossing pass sailed to the head of Jack Bailey,
who headed home the winner.
The Saints outshot the Crusaders 21-7 and held a 6-1 edge in
corner kicks. Abbey goalkeeper Philip Bru made four saves in the
net. The Abbey played a man down for the last 62 minutes after a
red card was issued.
