The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team won two doubles matches and
claimed victories at one and two singles, but Barton earned wins at
three through six singles and number two doubles to edge the
Crusaders 5-4. The Abbey ends its season with a record of 4-15
overall and 1-9 in Conference Carolinas.
In doubles, the Crusaders won at numbers one and three as Conner
McMann and Alex Gradenwitz took an easy 8-2 win at number one, and
Gabriel Trombini and Idris Moya outlasted an 8-6 win at number
three.
In singles, McMann easily won at number one with a 6-4, 6-3 win,
and Gradenwitz gutted out a three set win, taking the match with
scores of 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (9-7) as he overcame cramps in the third
set tiebreak to seal the win.
