Men's Tennis Eases Past North Greenville, 5-4 For First Win Of The Season

The Belmont Abbey men's tennis team earned its first win of the season as it won all three doubles matches and just two singles matches to dispatch North Greenville by a 5-4 score this afternoon at Greer Tennis Club. The Abbey moves to 1-8, while North Greenville drops to 3-5.

Belmont Abbey won just two singles matches but earned the team win as it swept all three doubles matches. Alex Gradenwitz and Conner McMann recorded an easy 8-2 win at number one, while Tim Tanko and Patrick Noelke gutted out a 9-8 win at number two. Gabriel Trombini and Idris Moya battled to an 8-5 win at number three.

In the singles competition only McMann and Gradenwitz were victorious, as McMann earned a 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 win at number one, and Gradenwitz posted a 7-5, 6-1 win at number two. Moya nearly earned a win at number six, as he won the first set 6-2, but fell 6-7, 9-11 in the third.
