send the Abbey to Saturday's final. The contest is officially a tie

Belmont Abbey advances to the Conference Carolinas Tournament
Final for the eighth-straight year, where it will host the
fourth-seeded Pfeiffer Falcons Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the
winner advancing to the NCAA Southeast Regional.
After a scoreless first half, the Crusaders jumped ahead 1-0 in
the 50th minute as Meghan Philp cut loose a turning, left footed
shot from 30 yards out that hit the left post and rebounded across
the mouth of the goal and tucked into the right corner of the
net.
The Crusaders held their lead until the 80th minute when
Limestone gained the equalizer. After an Abbey foul, Helen
Winterburn lofted a high free kick from the right flank that sailed
to the left corner of the net, where Taylor Sanders tipped the ball
over the goal line before Hannah Kohls could swat the ball away.
The ball never reached the net, but the referee's assistant ruled
that the ball crossed the line to deadlock the match at one.
Neither team scored again, sending the match into a penalty kick
shootout. There, all five Abbey shooters: Kristin Foster, Simone
Melvin, Silvia Vazquez, Cassidy Coutinho and Clark all made their
attempts. The tie was broken on Limestone's third shot, as Kohls
swatted away Sanders's spot kick to give the Crusaders the
lead.
Needing just a goal to advance, Clark, as she did in the 2011
quarterfinal against Queens, buried her attempt was soon engulfed
by her teammates in celebration.
The Crusaders outshot Limestone 12-11 and held a 10-5 edge in
corner kicks.
The final against Pfeiffer will be the third time the teams have
met in the Final the last five years. Pfeiffer won the meeting in
2008 by a 1-0 score, and in 2010 the Falcons overcame a two goal
deficit and won in penalty kicks.
