Volleyball Suffers First Conference Loss; Falls To King, 3-1

The Belmont Abbey volleyball team suffered its first Conference Carolinas loss of the season with a 3-1 defeat at King this evening. Set scores were 15-25, 25-20, 25-27 and 21-25. King moves to 8-7 overall and 2-0 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey drops to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in Conference Carolinas.

The Abbey hit .149 as junior Angela Jubb led the Crusaders with 12 kills, and Lydia Schellenberg added 11 and nine digs. Kay Schellenberg posted a double double with 37 assists and 20 digs. Libero Heather Wagner added 16 digs.

King's Ashley Pittman led all players with 15 kills as the Tornado's hit .229 for the match. Natalie Brown led all players with 21 digs. Payton Tipton posted 13 and Joscelyn Knott added 12 as King held a 76-68 edge in digs.
