Belmont Abbey sophomore Angela Jubb posted 17 kills and freshman
Lydia Schellenberg added 11 as the Crusaders volleyball team
improved to 8-2 overall and 2-1 in Conference Carolinas with a 3-1
win at Coker this evening. Set scores were 25-18, 25-19, 28-30 and
25-21. The Cobras fall to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in Conference
Carolinas.
The Abbey hit .145 (50 kills, 29 errors on 145 total attacks) as
Jubb led all players with 17 kills to go along with six digs, three
block assists and two block solos. Schellenberg added 11 kills and
ten digs and a service ace. Older sister Kay Schellenberg handed
out 40 assists and finished with ten digs. She added seven kills
with just one error on 12 total attacks.
For Coker, Katie McElveen earned the first double-double of her
college career with 11 kills and 15 digs. Cynallyhia Indriago had
nine kills and 13 digs, while Mindy Morris picked up nine kills and
14 digs. April Griggs also had nine kills for the Lady Cobras and
Molly Bookhart handed out 39 assists.
