The 24th-ranked Belmont Abbey women's soccer team scored twice in the first half in a five minute spurt and held Carson-Newman scorless as the Crusaders earned their sixth-straight win with a 2-0 road win this afternoon. The Abbey moves to 6-0, while Carson-Newman drops to 1-2.

Both teams finished with nine shots-four each in the first half and five in the second-but only the Abbey found the back of the net as senior Kristin Voirin scored the only goal the Crusaders would need at the 29:45 mark as she headed home a corner kick off the foot of Kristin Foster for the goal. It was Voirin's second goal in as many games.

Five minutes later, the Crusaders scored off the same play, as Alana Ryczek sailed a corner kick to the center of the box, where Nicole Voets redirected the ball with her head past goalkeeper Sarah Tompkins to widen the lead to 2-0.

Senior goalkeeper Anna Donaldson made the lead stand up, as she collected six saves, with four coming in the second half on five Carson-Newman shots.
