Three Second Half Goals Give Men's Soccer 3-0 Win At Brevard For Third-Straight Win

After a scoreless first half, the Belmont Abbey men's soccer team received goals from Timmi Borges Da Silva, Ross Smith and Matt Dolan as the Crusaders earned their third-straight win with a 3-0 triumph at Brevard this afternoon. The Abbey moves to 5-4-2, while the Tornados drop to 1-10-1.

The Abbey held a dominating 26-11 advantage in shots, including 11-3 in the first half, but the Crusaders found the back of the net in the 53rd minute as Stuart Kirk assisted Da Silva for his second goal of the year.

Eight minutes later, Da Silva was on the other end of the scoring equation as he assisted Smith in the 61st minute. The Abbey closed the scoring in th 80th minute, as Matt Dolan scored his fourth goal of the year, taking a pass from Jose Penaloza.

Belmont Abbey held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks in addition to its shots advantage. Goalkeeper Sergio Ramirez collected three saves.
