The Belmont Abbey volleyball team hit .390 as sophomore Angela
Jubb led all players with ten kills as the Crusaders earned a 3-0
win over the visiting Mount Olive Trojans this afternoon before a
raucous crowd of 210 at the Wheeler Center. Set scores were 25-15,
25-15 and 25-13. The Abbey improves its record to 12-6 overall and
5-3 in Conference Carolinas, while Mount Olive falls to 3-12
overall and 1-6 in Conference Carolinas.
The Abbey logged a sparkling .390 attack (39 kills, nine errors
on 77 total attacks), including a blistering .522 output in the
third set (12 kills, zero errors on 23 total attacks). Jubb led the
Abbey with ten kills on 15 total attacks with two errors (.533).
Kay Schellenberg handed out 27 assists and blasted three kills on
four total attacks with no errors (.750). Bria James and Lydia
Schellenberg both finished with seven kills. Schellenberg logged
five service aces and eight digs. Remick Tiller had four kills and
tied Lydia Schellenberg for the match high with eight digs.
Ashlee Reuter and Carly White both led Mount Olive with seven
kills aipiece. The Trojans hit .013 for the match (23 kills, 22
errors on 77 total attacks).
