The Belmont Abbey volleyball team was swept by Barton 3-0 this evening in a Conference Carolinas matchup. Set scores were 17-25, 18-25 and 20-25. Barton improves to 9-8 overall and 7-2 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey drops to 11-6 overall and 4-3 in Conference Carolinas.

Neither team was dominant offensively, as Barton registered a .169 attack (31 kills, 16 errors on 89 total attacks) while the Abbey cumulated a .018 attack (26 kills, 24 errors on 110 total attacks). The Crusaders were paced offensively by Bria James and Angela Jubb, who both finished with seven kills. Kay Schellenberg handed out 12 assists and logged a pair of service aces. Lydia Schellenberg led the defense with eight digs. Jubb totaled three block solos and a block assist, while Jennifer Angelich posted three block assists.

Melissa Ritter led Barton with 10 kills, the only player in the match to reach double figures in the category. She added a match-high 12 digs to register a double double. Meagan Parrott added nine kills. Carly Love handed out 28 assists and recorded seven digs as the Bulldogs recorded 53 on the night.
