The Belmont Abbey volleyball team dropped its home opener to the visiting Brevard College Tornados by a 3-0 score this evening at the Wheeler Center. Game scores were 17-25, 23-25 and 16-25. Brevard remains unbeaten at 4-0, while the Abbey slips to 0-5.

Belmont Abbey hit .111 for the match (27 kills, 17 errors on 90 total attacks) as freshman Angela Jubb led the way with seven kills. Morgan Kirby added five while Bria James and Jennifer Angelich both had four. Steffanie Holler led the way with ten digs, while Kay Schellenburg had seven to go along with 14 assists while Molly Gwaltney had eight.

Brevard logged a .212 attack (39 kills, 18 errors on 99 total attacks) as Chelsea Larsen led all players with 12. Brooke Seaman added ten. Bethany Stevenson posted 29 assists and a pair of service aces. Rebecca Schoonover led all players with 13 digs as the Tornados posted 41 on the evening.
