The Belmont Abbey volleyball team was swept 3-0 this evening by the visiting Lees-McRae Bobcats in a Conference Carolinas matchup. Game scores were 21-25, 11-25 and 23-25. Lees-McRae improves to 6-3 overall and remains unbeaten in Conference play at 2-0, while the Abbey falls to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas.

Belmont Abbey hit .045 (25 kills, 21 errors on 89 total attacks) as freshman Angela Jubb led the way with eight kills, while Steffanie Holler finished with five. Kay Schellenberg had 13 assists. Defensively, the Abbey posted 31 digs as Schellenberg finished with seven, while Jubb and Remick Tiller both added six. Jubb finished with two block assists.

Lees-McRae hit .333 (43 kills, 13 errors on 90 total attacks). Taylor Clendenin led all players with ten kills on 17 total attacks with just three errors (.412 hitting percentage). Katie-Marie Legg and Whitney Justice chipped in with nine each. Megan Mitchell posted 37 assists and a pair of service aces. Defensively, libero Luana Rocha posted 15 of the Bobcats' 35 digs, leading all players.
