The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team dropped its Conference Carolinas opener at Pfeiffer 6-1 this afternoon in Misenheimer, North Carolina. The Abbey falls to 1-2-1 overall and 0-1 in Conference Carolinas, while Pfeiffer moves to 3-2-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Conference Carolinas.

Pfeiffer would open the scoring in the 28th minute as Jeff Cannon (Lewis Center, OH) found Alex Landim for a shot taken just outside the 18-yard box for his second of the season and a 1-0 Falcons lead. 24 seconds later, the Falcons would score again to up the lead to 2-0, which would be the halftime score.

Pfeiffer would score again in the 61st minute, and the Abbey would respond 11 minutes later on a penalty kick scored by Emmanual Yamson to pull the Abbey within two at 3-1.

The Falcons would close the game by scoring three more goals in the final 13 minutes as they went on to win, 6-1.
