The #11 seed Belmont Abbey continued their Cinderella run as
they defeated the #6 seed Lees-McRae 3-1 in nine innings. The Abbey
scored the game tying run in the top of the seventh and then plated
two runs in the top of the ninth to eliminate Lees-McRae.
Danielle Puckett earned the win, tossing six scoreless innings,
while striking out five, while Amadnad Dodson took the loss,
allowing two runs in two innings of relief for the Bobcats.
Katie Hobbs and Puckett were each 3-for-4, with Hobbs driving in
a run for the Crusaders.
Belmont Abbey advances to play the #8 seed Coker in an
elimination game at 4:30 p.m., while Lees-McRae is eliminated from
the tournament.
