The Belmont Abbey volleyball team fell at Newberry by a 3-1 score this evening. Set scores were 12-25, 14-25, 25-19 and 17-25. Newberry improves to 13-9, while the Abbey drops to 3-13.

Belmont Abbey hit .092 (29 kills, 19 errors on 109 total attacks) as Bria James and Steffanie Holler both led the way with seven kills. Morgan Kirby added four. Kay Schellenberg handed out 21 assists to go along with a pair of service aces.

Defensively, the Crusaders registered eight total blocks as Kirby posted three block assists to tie for the match high, while Holler, Schellenberg and Jennifer Angelich all posted two each. James and Remick Tiller both led the Abbey with nine digs each, and Schellenberg added eight.
