The Belmont Abbey volleyball team fell 3-0 this evening to the visiting Barton Bulldogs at the Wheeler Center. Set scores were 20-25, 20-25 and 16-25. The win moves Barton to 7-15 overall and evens its Conference Carolinas mark at 7-7, while the Abbey dips to 5-16 overall and 5-9 in Conference Carolinas.

Belmont Abbey hit .078 (26 kills, 20 errors on 77 total attacks) as Steffanie Holler led the Crusaders with eight kills, while Remick Tiller and Bria James both added four. Kay Schellenberg handed out 22 assists.

Defensively, the Crusaders posted 32 digs as Schellenberg and Julianne Pisano tied for the match high with seven each. Tiller and Holler both finished with five. Morgan Kirby led the Abbey with two block assists.

Barton registered a .221 total attack (34 kills, 15 errors on 86 total attacks) as Kati Wood and Mel Ritter tied the for match high with ten each. Stacy Way added six and Chancey Sebranek posted five. Carly Cash posted 21 assists while Macon Harmon added eight.

Defensively, Way's three block solos led all players, while Cash led the Bulldogs with five of Barton's 27 digs.
