Box score

The Belmont Abbey men's soccer team fell 2-0 this afternoon to the visiting Limestone Saints this afternoon at Alumni Field. Limestone improves to 10-4 overall and 7-2 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey falls to 8-7-1 overall and 3-6 in Conference Carolinas.

The first half was evenly played with neither team finding the back of the net. Limestone did have a goal nullified due to an offsides call, but it would get its first goal at the 51:28 mark of the second half, Keegan Ziada sent a pass across the field to Junior Smyth, who collected it just outside of the box, took two dribbles and connected on a low shot into the right corner of the net.

That was all of the scoring until the 79:20 mark when the Abbey kicked the ball into its own net on a deflection.

Limestone outshot the Abbey 17-5 and held a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks. Brandon Alvarez made six saves, while Mark Davidson collected four.
