Volleyball Falls To Anderson, 3-1

The Belmont Abbey volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Anderson University this evening in a Conference Carolinas matchup at the Wheeler Center. Set scores were 25-22, 14-25, 18-25 and 27-29. Anderson improves to 8-9 overall and remains unbeaten in Conference Carolinas with a 4-0 mark, while the Crusaders slip to 4-9 overall and 3-3 in Conference Carolinas.

Belmont Abbey's offense was led by sophomore Emily Frohnapfel, who finished with nine kills to go along with four total blocks. Bria James added six kills, while Leanne Cassandra and Sydney Steffen both registered five. Rebekah Weber handed out 21 assists and Molly Gwaltney posted eight.

Defensively, James led the way with 12 digs, while Carrie Markham posted ten. Frohnapfel posted three block assists and one block solo, while James added a pair of block assists.

Anderson was led by Jamie Lancaster's 20 kills and four service aces, while Amanda Edwards notched a double double with 18 kills and ten digs. Lindsey Doggett posted 48 assists and six digs. The Lady Trojans were led defensively by Adria Mullaney's 18 digs. Ashley Prince had three block solos.
