The Belmont Abbey volleyball team dropped a tough 3-2 decision at Brevard this evening. The Abbey won the first two sets but dropped the next three. Scores were 25-23, 25-23, 15-25, 22-25 and 10-15. Brevard improves to 6-2, while the Crusaders slip to 2-6.

Belmont Abbey posted 51 kills as senior Sydney Steffen led the Crusaders with 14 kills, while sophomore Emily Frohnapfel added 11 and freshman Bria James posted nine. Rebekah Weber handed out 25 assists and five digs, while Molly Gwaltney posted 17 assists and nine digs. Megan Watts recorded three service aces and four digs.

Defensively, Carrie Markham led the way with 14 digs and Frohnapfel finished with four block assists while James had a pair.
