The Belmont Abbey women's basketball team, in its first action
since December 19, fell at Mars Hill by an 83-63 count this evening
at Stanford Arena. Mars Hill improves to 7-4, while the Abbey slips
to 4-2.
Junior guard Courtney Naquin led the Abbey offense with 16
points, while Shayla Jackson added 14 as the Crusaders shot 37.3
percent (22-59) from the floor. Naquin was 5-16 shooting from the
field, with all five field goals from three-point range, while
handing out three assists in 29 minutes. Jackson finished the night
5-9 shooting from the field, and recorded a perfect 4-4 effort from
the free throw line. She pulled down a team-high six rebounds in
her 30 minutes of action.
Mars Hill shot 60.5 percent (26-43) as Brittini Jackson led the
way with 25 points on 6-10 shooting from the floor and a perfect
10-10 effort from the free throw line.
