Box score

Belmont Abbey freshman forward Emmanual Yamson scored the only goal of the match, the first of his career, in the 22nd minute as the Crusaders men's soccer team earned a 1-0 win at Queens this evening at Marion Diehl Park. The Abbey improves to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in Conference Carolinas, while the Royals slip to 6-3-1 overall and 2-2-1 in Conference Carolinas. Five of the Abbey's seven wins have come via shutout.

The Crusaders dominated the statistics, outshooting the Royals 13-7 and holding a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks as Yamson, in his first career start, gave them the only goal it would need at the 21:25 mark, as he found the back of the net off of a corner kick from Kyle Fenner for his first career goal. Abbey goalkeeper Bryan Alenky made the lead stand up, making three saves in the shutout win.
