Women's Soccer Rolls At Erskine, 5-0 To Extend Conference Unbeaten Streak To 36

The Belmont Abbey women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak against Conference Carolinas opponents to 36 with a 5-0 win at Erskine this evening. The Abbey, winners of six straight, all by shutout, improves to 14-2-3 overall and 9-0-1 in Conference Carolinas, while the Flying Fleet slip to 5-13-0 overall and 5-5-0 in Conference Carolinas.

Five different players found the back of the net as freshman Celene Molera opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with an assist credited to Rebecca Mateo. Shortly before halftime, a pair of freshman connected to extend the lead to 2-0, as Connie Axiotis assisted Nicole Voets.

The Abbey put the match completely out of reach in the second half with three goals, the first coming just 3:20 into the period on an unassisted tally by Erika Trivisonno. Amanda Maddock made it 4-0 at the 65:40 mark with an assist from Molera, and Lindsay Palm closed the scoring in the 85th minute as she headed home a corner kick off the foot of Lauren Faerber.
