The Belmont Abbey volleyball team snapped its four match losing streak with a thrilling 3-2 win over visiting Barton this evening at the Wheeler Center. Set scores were 25-17, 25-22, 27-29, 20-25 and 15-7. The Crusaders improve to 8-14 overall and 7-7 in Conference Carolinas, while the Bulldogs fall to 6-17 overall and 4-9 in Conference Carolinas.

Belmont Abbey hit .151 for the match as Emily Frohnapfel led the way with 12 kills, while Bria James added ten. Sydney Steffen and Leanne Cassandra both added nine. Molly Gwaltney posted 27 assists while Rebekah Weber posted 18. Defensively, Weber led all players with 19 digs, while Holly Kimmel added 15 and James had 12.

Barton was led by Melissa Ritter's 24 kills, while Liz Strange 15. Cami Fledderman posted 22 assists while Macon Harmon had 20. Ritter led all players with 23 digs, while Strange had 20.
