Box score

Belmont Abbey junior forward Alexis Aguirre scored the only goal of the match at the 61:00 mark as the Crusaders men's soccer team earned its third-straight Conference Carolinas win (all by shutout) with a 1-0 win over visiting Pfeiffer this afternoon. The Abbey improves to 9-7 overall and 4-3 in Conference Carolinas, while the Falcons fall to 6-7 overall and 4-2 in Conference Carolinas. Seven of the Crusaders wins have come via shutout.

The Abbey outshot Pfeiffer 11-5 as it got the only goal it would need at the 61:00 mark. Off of a Bryan Alenky punt, Emmanual Yamson headed the ball forward to a streaking Aguirre, who got behind the Falcon defense. Pfeiffer netminder Alex Moreno came off his line to challenge, but Aguirre pushed the ball under Moreno's sliding attempt for the goal.

Along with the shots advantage, the Abbey held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Alenky made two saves, while Moreno had eight.
